Note Mover

Note mover is the default tool for selecting and moving notes. (shortcut key [V])

  • Double click on grid to create a note with duration of a half cell.
  • Click on a note to select it. Drag out a selection box to select multiple notes and create a selection, you can also select multiple notes by clicking the first note and the last note while holding [Shift] . Then you can delete, cut, copy, duplicate them.
  • Drag on selected notes to move them.
    • When moving notes, they will snap to grid by default. Hold [Ctrl / Cmd] to dismiss snap.
    • You can also use arrow keys [↑/↓/←/→] to move. (hold [Shift] and use [↑/↓] to move notes by octave)
  • Drag on the left/right edge of a note to adjust its duration (shortcut key [Shift] + [←/→]). It snaps to grid by default, hold [Ctrl / Cmd] to dismiss snap.
    • Drag on the left edge of a consonant to adjust its duration. To learn more about editing consonants, please refer to Edit lyrics and consonantsEdit lyrics and consonants.
  • Double click on a note to type in lyrics starting from this note. To learn more about editing lyrics, please refer to Edit lyrics and consonantsEdit lyrics and consonants.

Note Brush

Note brush is a tool for drawing notes. (shortcut key [B])

  • Drag to create a note. Before releasing mouse click, you can adjust its length by dragging horizontally. It will snap to grid by default, hold [Ctrl / Cmd] to dismiss snap.
  • Draw within the range of a note to create a sustain note.
  • Drag on an existing note to move it.
  • Double click on a note to type in lyrics starting from this note. To learn more about editing lyrics, please refer to Edit lyrics and consonantsEdit lyrics and consonants.

Note Slicer

Note slicer is a tool to create a sustain note inside a note. (shortcut key [X])

  • Click on a note to split. It will snap to grid by default, hold [Ctrl / Cmd] to dismiss snap.

Tip: Adding a short begin note will bring much natural result.

Monophonic

In a singer track, each MIDI clip can only support monophonic content (solo melody).

  • When notes overlap by being moved, the left one will be cut to avoid overlap.
  • When importing a MIDI file, all overlapped notes will be turned into sustain notes.

Piano key sound

When the piano keyboard is clicked, or when a note is clicked, moved, or created, the corresponding pitch will be played in the piano key sound by default. You can click on the speaker icon on the upper left of the piano keys to turn off the sound.
