Vocal Controls

Adjust advanced vocal parameters in ACE Studio to precisely control AI singer performance.

Vocal Controls are a new set of advanced parameters designed for vocal synth models of Verse25 and later, allowing for fine-tuned control over the AI singer's performance. These parameters replace most of the previous emotion controls.

What Are Vocal Controls

Vocal Controls allow users to fine-tune the vocal performance of AI singers by adjusting specific vocal qualities such as Power, Soft, Breathy, and Chest. These controls are designed to give users precise control over how the AI singer sounds, making the performance more expressive and tailored to the song's needs.

Basic Controls

Basic Controls consist of four adjustable parameters available to all AI singers.

Power

“Power” controls the strength and intensity of the vocal delivery. Increasing this parameter gives the voice more energy and impact, ideal for powerful choruses or dramatic moments.

Soft

“Soft” adjusts the overall gentleness and smoothness of the voice. Higher softness makes the voice sound more delicate and soothing, suitable for ballads or intimate moments.

Breathy

“Breathy” controls the amount of airiness or breath-like quality in the voice. Increasing this parameter adds a whispery, ethereal texture, perfect for dreamy or emotional passages.

Chest

“Chest” enhances the resonance and depth in the lower vocal range, giving the voice a fuller and more grounded tone. This is useful for creating a warm and rich vocal presence.

Special Controls

Special Controls can be configured exclusively within specific singers that support these features.

Rap

"Rap" controls the rap style of the voice. Increasing this parameter enhances the clarity, speed, and rhythm of the articulation, making the voice more aggressive and street-like. It is suitable for rap sections in hip-hop music, pop songs, or any passages requiring strong rhythmic expression.

Opera

"Opera" injects classical bel canto singing techniques into the voice. Increasing this parameter enhances the resonance and penetration of the voice, adds brilliant vibrato and dramatic tone, making the voice sound more bright and full. It is ideal for singing classical arias, brilliant segments in musicals, or adding a grand, epic feeling to songs.

Chinese Opera

"Chinese Opera" adds the unique charm and singing style of traditional Chinese opera to the voice. Increasing this parameter makes the articulation more distinctive, the tone brighter and higher-pitched, and incorporates the common melismatic and ornamental sounds of Chinese opera. It is suitable for singing opera excerpts or integrating "Chinese style" elements into modern music.

Auto

When no manual edits are made, the AI automatically infers and generates the performance based on the context of melody, lyrics, and the current AI voice's singing style.

Editing Vocal Controls

Editing Parameter Envelope

To create or modify a parameter envelope, simply left-click and drag within the parameter lane.

To remove your parameter evelope, right-click and drag over the envelope. The erased area will return to "Auto" mode.

Global Control

Located to the left of the parameter track, the Global Control Knob allows you to apply a consistent offset. The final value you see and hear is a combination of your manual drawing and the global knob's setting.

When a parameter lane is completely in Auto Mode, you can still adjust it, but it will only take effect once you draw an envelope.
